The Pacific Union Bible Instructors Association voted at the Annual Meeting in January 1980 to adopt the name Bible Instructors Guild – BIG for Christ.

PURPOSE:

The organization, founded by Mrs. Vivian Boyce of Los Angeles, came about through her dream to unite the Bible workers of the Pacific Union.  Sister Boyce saw the need of Bible Instructors coming together to encourage each other and also to inspire new workers to enter this phase of God’s work.  In 1978, Sister Boyce commenced this dream with less than 15 members in the organization.  It was her purpose also to lift the Bible Instructor’s work higher in the eyes of God’s people so that others could see the seriousness of such a task.  The organization is to be ongoing in its nature and scope.

GOAL:

It is the supreme goal of this organization to uplift Christ and hasten His soon return.  To do so, the members recruit lay Bible Instructors, train workers, fellowship with one another to realize kindred spirits, discuss problems, and seek the best ways to make their work as Bible Instructors more effective.  Thus, through sharing, caring, fellowshipping, and planning, the members seek to accomplish their primary goal.
